COMMAND STAFF DUTY DESCRIPTIONS
STANDARDIZATION AND EVALUATION SQUADRON COMMANDER (StanEval)
This individual should be at least a third year cadet in good academic standing.
This individual is responsible for:
- Observing and evaluating the progress of the Cadet Corps in accomplishing its mission, and advising the Cadet Vice Corps Commander.
- Performing periodic self-inspection of the Corps and informing the Vice Corps Commander of results.
- Supervising Inspection Team and insuring organization according to regulations.
- Acting as Chief of Inspections. Insuring the AFJROTC cadet staff follows pertinent regulations and policies.
- Initiating all Cadet Review Boards.
- Ensuring all squadron staff meet academic requirements.
- Conducting Squadron staff meetings as required to ensure the administrative work for the Squadron is accomplished in a timely and accurate manner.
SQUADRON NCOIC
This individual must be at least a second year cadet in good academic standing.
This individual is responsible for:
- Assuming command of the Squadron in the absence of the Squadron Commander and ALL other officers assigned to that squadron.
- Maintaining discipline at squadron activities as well as supervising lower ranking cadet NCOs and airmen.
- Evaluating flight activities under the supervision of the Squadron Commander within the guidelines established by AFJROTC regulations.
- Assisting the CCC in organizing the squadron for pass-in-reviews and parades.
- Ensuring Squadron NCO staff are academically eligible.
PROMOTIONS
This individual must be at least a second year cadet in good academic standing.
This individual is responsible for:
- Conducting regular uniform inspections to ensure that JROTC cadets maintain high standards of appearance and adherence to uniform regulations.
- Providing guidance and training to cadets on proper uniform wear, grooming, and personal hygiene, instilling discipline and attention to detail.
- Maintaining records of uniform inspections and addressing any uniform-related issues or violations through corrective actions and counseling.
- Collaborating with cadet leadership and instructors to reinforce the importance of uniform standards in promoting a sense of pride, professionalism, and military bearing within the JROTC program.
EVALUATIONS
This individual must be at least a second year cadet in good academic standing.
This individual is responsible for:
- Conducting regular unit self inspections to assess the overall performance, effectiveness, and compliance of the JROTC program with established standards and objectives
- Analyzing cadet performance and program administration to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans for enhancement.
- Providing feedback, recommendations, and guidance to JROTC instructors and cadet leaders to help them achieve program goals, maintain high standards, and address any deficiencies.
PROMOTIONS
This individual must be at least a second year cadet in good academic standing.
This individual is responsible for:
- Administering and overseeing the cadet promotion process, which includes evaluating cadet performance, leadership abilities, and adherence to program standards.
- Developing and implementing promotion criteria and eligibility requirements, ensuring that cadets meet the necessary qualifications for advancement to higher ranks within the JROTC program.
- Conducting promotion boards or selection committees to review and assess cadet records, interviews, and recommendations from JROTC instructors and cadet leaders to determine suitable promotions.
- Communicating promotion decisions to cadets and instructors, and maintaining accurate records of cadet promotions, ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability in the promotion process.
