STARTING CLASS PROCEDURES
The Flight Commander and/or Command Staff will stage in the hallway and wait for the tardy bell to ring.
At the sound of the tardy bell, All cadets in the classroom will assume the position of Parade Rest and wait for the Flight Sergeant will call the room to “ATTENTION” when appropriate.
After the the tardy bell rings, the Flight Commander and/or Command Staff will enter the room.
AS the Flight Commander and/or Command Staff enters the room, the Flight Sergeant will call the room to “ATTENTION”.
The Flight Commander along with the Flight Sergeant and the Command Staff, if present, will take their position at the command staff desk.
Once in place, the Flight Commander will command “Recite the Pledge”.
All cadets will face the Flag of the United States. (Personnel in uniform will remain standing at attention; those in civilian clothing will place their right hand over their heart.)
When the Flight Commander has verified that everyone is ready, he/she will face the flag, assumes the proper position, and in a clear command voice, lead the flight in the Pledge of Allegiance.
When the pledge is finished, the Flight Commander will face the class and command “Recite Texas Pledge”. The cadets will adjust if necessary to face the Texas Flag and the Flight Commander will lead the Texas Pledge.
7.11.1.4. The Flight Commander commands “Element Leaders, Report”. The element leaders, in succession, will report the attendance for their element.
7.11.1.5. The element leader, salutes (and holds until the salute is returned) and says
“Sir/Ma’am, (1st/2nd) element all present and/or accounted for” OR ADDS, IF NECESSARY, “with the exception of cadet(s) name(s).”
7.11.1.6. The Flight Commander returns each salute.
7.11.1.7. The Flight Sergeant records the attendance report from the Element Leaders, and then submits the attendance report to the SASI/ASI.
7.11.1.8. After attendance has been taken, the Flight Commander will then command “Cadet Core Values” followed by “Recite Cadet Honor Code.”
7.11.1.9. Upon returning from submitting the attendance report to the SASI/ASI, the Flight Sergeant will brief Ops Orders. Upon completion of Ops Orders, the Flight Commander will report to the instructor, “Sir/Ma’am, (A, B, C, etc…) Flight is ready.”
NOTE: Talking or moving around during the pledge or roll call is a violation of discipline.
