FLAG DETAIL

JROTC cadets are responsible for raising and lowering the flag every day at Langham Creek and every morning at Cy-Lakes.

It takes a minimum of four cadets to raise and lower the flags each time.
  • One cadet acts as the detail commander.
  • One cadet raises or lowers the flags as required.
  • Two cadets are responsible for securing the flags.
  • All four cadets are responsible for properly folding the flags.
  • These 4 cadets are referred to as the Flag Detail.

Each cadet in the Corps is required to learn how to raise, lower and fold the flag.

Each cadet in the Corps is required to participate in a minimum of one flag detail each semester.

Each flight will be responsible for flag detail on a rotating weekly basis.

Flight Sergeants will be in charge of assigning cadets to a detail.

If a cadet is scheduled to participate in a flag detail and is unable to attend, that cadet is responsible for finding a substitute to fill their role.

If a cadet is absent on a day they are scheduled to participate in a flag detail it is the Flight Sergeant's responsibility to find a substitute for that days flag detail.

If a cadet fails to show for a scheduled flag detail they will receive an AFJROTC Form 341 and a “0” participation grade for that day.

Multiple failures to show when scheduled may result in a cadets removal from AFJROTC.
